Glenn has been an advocate for children, the elderly, the underprivileged, and those with mental illness, and others who need the help of local human services agencies. Glenn's legal expertise and background as a courtroom advocate significantly contribute to the annual public hearings that the Board conducts.

Glenn has earned the respect and trust of his peers on the Board as demonstrated by the fact that his peers have elected him to vice chair for the past two years. Given the diverse make-up of the board, Glenn's patient and gentlemanly demeanor facilitate even-keeled discussions and Board decisions.

Glenn is well suited to be a District Court Judge. Glenn is adept in the workings of the court processes in Orange and Chatham County. He is one of those people who expertly brings the best aspects out of the judicial system to make it address long term needs within the limits of the law. As a judge, this is a powerful, defining characteristic. Perhaps most importantly I have always seen Glenn treat his clients, victims, witnesses, and other participants in the judicial process with dignity and respect. I fully anticipate that if elected to the bench, Glenn will make a difference in the lives of the people of Orange and Chatham Counties.

As a court interpreter, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Attorney Glenn Gerding for the past 4 to 5 years. It first began while Attorney Gerding was employed as a public defender for the Orange County Court System, and then as an assigned attorney for the same court system. Mr. Gerding has a great personality and has always displayed a very respectful behavior. I have enjoyed working with Mr. Gerding and always look forward to interpreting for him. Mr. Gerding has a very calm and peaceful manner, which in my opinion are great traits for a future Judge to have. I wish him the very best and truly hope to appear before him in court one day in the capacity of an interpreter.

Interpreter

As an Officer in the JAG Corps, I earned my Commanding Officers' respect for my hard work, courtroom talent, and commitment to justice. The following are comments from some of my military performance evaluations:

"Lieutenant Commander Gerding epitomizes our best: smart, mission-oriented, proactive, and resourceful. His unbounded ability to meet and succeed in any and every challenge was reflected in many diverse and complex assignments. A standout among his peers for his initiative and selfless efforts to serve."

Captain Janet Donovan, JAGC, USN

"Unquestionably the number one attorney in the Division, Navy or Marine! Unsurpassed in legal acumen, persuasive writing ability, and effective oral argument. In short - the quintessential litigator, but much more, as he is also a top-notch Naval officer. Zealous representative of his clients and tireless advocate for true justice in the military system. A gifted teacher; provided outstanding mentoring to newly assigned appellate attorneys while maintaining a daunting caseload."

Commander George Reilly, JAGC, USN

"The number one Lieutenant in the Navy's largest and busiest defense department. With dedication, commitment, and a quiet confidence, his abilities as a leader, a litigator, and an officer are unmatched. Lieutenant Gerding is the cream of the crop. There is no challenge he cannot meet."

Captain David Price, JAGC, USN
